Kotaku.com posted an awesome video today showing what "Bastion" looked like in its most fledgling stage of development. Funny timing, because just yesterday I installed the earliest prototype for Pyroclasm on my iPad and was absolutely blown away by how far we've come in just the last few months.
Pyroclasm day one vs. Pyroclasm now
The best part about it, though, is that the simple, intuitive controls and basic gameplay elements (stay hot & avoid cold stuff) which were so blatantly visible in the initial build still shine through in our latest iteration.
It's the same with Bastion. Even without the awesome voiceover work, backstory and gorgeous art assets, the basic elements that made Bastion so captivating are right there in that video, stolen placeholder assets and all.
